The concept of my FMP photoshoots are to show both the positive and negative messages that Disney's animated films portray to children...particularly young girls. In Pocahontas the main female character is strong, courageous and independent...but she also has Angelina Jolie lips and an impossibly thin waist.

ReplyDeleteIt is really such a bad thing to be portrayed as beautiful as well as strong? Perhaps Disney are hinting that you can be a well rounded person, rather than vacuous, even if you are beautiful.
