As an English born fashionista myself, I find there's something rather special about British heritage brands. Think Dr Martens, Burberry and Barbour; each encapsulates the "oh so British" spirit and portrays the eclectic British style in their own, unique way. This outfit, which I wore to work last Tuesday, features a pair of simple, black Dr Martens, (a heavily punk inspired British brand), and a tartan pinafore dress by Mod Dolly, which was made right here in London!
I've added a slight preppy twist to this ensemble with the sporty striped-sleeve blouse, but when I think about the contents of my wardrobe, it's clear that my style is actually very influenced by British designers and icons... I mean, who doesn't love Alexa Chung's endless array of cute collars and pinafores!? Call me biased as I'm a born and bred Brit, but to me, British style is edgy, eclectic, playful and chic and it will always inspire me! What do you think of the stereotypical British look?

After moving to the UK I actually realized that there are several different "stereotypical" british looks, all of them certainly nothing like I've seen in other countries! I absolutely love watching people in London though, it's crazy how almost every single person on the street looks awesome and super stylish :D

BEST take on the heritage look! I'm a dual citizen (US and UK) so I always joke that when I'm in my Docs I'm a Brit and in my Converse I'm American. But I do love the former way way more...
