THE BOYFRIEND SHIRT: NIGHT & DAY

This oversized boyfriend style shirt from Glamorous is semi-sheer and features cute candy-stripes all over - I love oversized tops because they're comfortable and flattering for my figure, which is slightly pear shaped. Below is how I'd style this shirt for both the day and also for an evening out - and if you fancied one for yourselves you can get it here.

During the day, it can be worn with pretty much anything; skinny jeans, leggings, denim shorts...but when wearing high waisted bottoms, I simply can't resist tucking in! Below I've worn my new shirt with a bandeau top underneath, (because I don't like my bra on show during the day), and my new green shorts from Topshop which, through a combination of sale discount and a gift card my friend gave me, I paid just £4 for!

I'm also wearing my TRIWA watch, yellow ankle socks from Primark, and, OH YES, my brand spanking new Dr Martens! I got these beauties, which are the dark purple colour by the way, for just £32 on ebay! Ebay is a wonderful place! I can't really afford to be spending even £30 on shoes but the rainfall in London recently has been so bad that I needed some sensible, waterproof shoes desperately.   

For an evening out, either spent sipping cocktails at a local bar or dancing the night away, I would pair the candy shirt, as I like to call it, with darker colours. I've tucked it into my pleather shorts from River Island and then chosen low wedges, because I can't walk in high heels!;) This purple blazer is vintage and I bought it from a charity shop in Winchester last year.  

    
I'm going out in London tomorrow night for the first time since I moved here - can anyone recommend any cool bars or clubs I should check out? Preferably north, east or central...and I like places that play indie or old stuff from the 60's to 90's. Have a great weekend everyone! xx
