When shopping for clothes I often find myself stuck in a bit of a fashion rut, sticking solely to the fashion brands I know and love and ignoring what the rest of the high street has to offer. Don't get me wrong, I love Topshop, Zara, H&M and Warehouse, but sometimes isn't it just wonderfully refreshing to step outside of your comfort zone!?

Particularly when shopping for occasion-wear, I think it's important to think outside of the box and look in the shops that you wouldn't normally consider. I like to visit department stores at times like these, as they have such a vast selection of different brands and designers that you wouldn't usually come across!

My attention was recently brought to the new BHS video campaign which looks at autumnal dressing in a clean, sophisticated and feminine way. Now, I've never really taken much interest in this particular department store, but on closer inspection they actually have some quite nice pieces, on-trend and for affordable prices! It's just reminded me to be open minded about shopping...
